Job Title: Engineering Technician I
Job Duties: Assemble electrical systems or prototypes, using hand tools or measuring instruments. See more occupations related to this task. Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment. See more occupations related to this task. Inspect electrical project work for quality control and assurance. See more occupations related to this task. Identify solutions to on-site technical design problems involving electrical systems equipment. See more occupations related to this task. Collaborate with electrical engineers or other personnel to identify, define, or solve developmental problems.technician should be able to manually tune the 100kw Continental 418/419 Transmitters and the ABB 500KW transmitter. Also required to repair any problems with the transmitter circuitry and associated Control room ancillary equipment. Well versed in PLC Remote control links via Microwave Systems to connect Saipan and Tinian SAS computer programming is required as well plus Remote Antenna switching for the Matrices. Be able to use test equipments on the sites including Spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, Network analyzers using Smith Chart representation as well as High Voltage Hi-Pot component testing. Also troubleshoots problems with the Satellite interconnect Systems and Station Automation systems. The job also requires fixing any problems on the Antenna arrays as well as correcting arcing problems, Slew Problems and cable problems. Must be experienced in the High frequency /Short wave environment and the various station components required for this position.

Qualification Requirements: Require training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree.Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for these occupations. Employees in these occupations usually need one or two years of training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers. These occupations usually involve using communication and organizational skills to coordinate, supervise, manage, or train others to accomplish goals.Three (3) years of "hands on" work experience in support of installations, repair, and troubleshooting of Broadcast transmitters, communications systems of equipment. Associate's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology; or completion of formal resident trade school or apprentice program in electronics; or completion of U.S. Military schools in electronic communications equipment or systems. require training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree.Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for these occupations. For example, an electrician must have completed three or four years of apprenticeship or several years of vocational training, and often must have passed a licensing exam, in order to perform the job.Employees in these occupations usually need one or two years of training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers. A recognized apprenticeship program may be associated with these occupations.
