Job Title: | General Maintenance |
Job Duties: | Repairs and maintains mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of vessels. Repairs wooden and fiberglass boats according to blueprints and customer specifications, using handtools and power tools: Confers with customer or supervisory personnel and reads blueprints to determine repairs needed and plan sequence of operations. Examines boat/vessels to determine location and extent of defect. Cuts out defective area, using power saw, drills, and handtools. Measures and records dimensions of defective area and lays out dimension lines and reference points on materials, using rules, straightedge, squares, and scribing instruments. Sets up and operates saws, joiners, planers, and shapers to fabricate repair parts. Positions and fits repair part in boat and secures part to boat, using caulking gun, adhesive, or carpenter's handtools. Cuts fiberglass material to specified size and patches defective surfaces. Boat Patcher. Smooths repaired surfaces, using power sander. Hand brushes or sprays paint or other finishing solution on repaired areas and waxes and buffs area to specified finish. Works below surface of water, using scuba gear (self-contained underwater breathing apparatus) or in diving suit with air line extending to surface to inspect, repair, remove, and install equipment and structures: Descends into water with aid of DIVER HELPER, and communicates with surface by signal line or telephone. Inspects docks and bottoms and propellers of ships. Repairs vessels below water line, Maintains diving equipment. |

Qualification Requirements: | Pacific Subsea Saipan Inc. operates 4 passenger vessels including one tourist submersible engaged in tourism. All vessels are operated according to federal regulations (CFR) for passenger vessels. In order to qualify for the positions all applicants will be required to submit to pre-employment drug testing and enter into a ongoing drug testing program, pre-employment background checking, additionally applicants possesses CPR and basic first aid certification complying with DOT/USCG as required per 46CFR are preferred.
