| Job Duties: | Sew cloth, fabric, garments using hand or sewing machines. Design, make, alter or fit garments, clothing or fabrics. Sew table cloths, uniforms of employees, curtains, draperies, valance, bed skirts, bedcovers, bedsheets, headboard covers, roller blinds, pillow covers, seat cushion and covers and other fabrics as instructed by unit owners or tenants. Develop, copy, make sketches or patterns, take measurements, prepare proposal & present it to unit owners. Assemble garment parts & join parts with basting stitches by hand or sewing machines. Read instructions or work orders to determine product specification and material requirements. |

| Qualification Requirements: | Little or no previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is needed for these occupations. For example, a person can become a waiter or waitress even if he/she has never worked before. Experience as dressmaker or seamstress is preferred. Must be able to create or copy designs or patterns suitable to fabric. Must be proficient in taking measurements. Can sew by hand or sewing machine. Must be able to lift 25lbs and can sit for long hours. Must be result oriented and can meet deadlines. |
