| Job Duties: | Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of companies or public and private sector organizations. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources, but are too diverse and general in nature to be classified in any one functional area of management or administration, such as personnel, purchasing, or administrative services. Includes owners and managers who head small business establishments whose duties are primarily managerial. Direct and coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with the production, pricing, sales, or distribution of products. Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties. Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement. Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with board members, organization officials, and staff members as necessary. Determine staffing requirements, and interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes. Monitor businesses and agencies to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed services while staying within budgetary limits. Oversee activities directly related to making products or providing services. Direct and coordinate organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency. Determine goods and services to be sold, and set prices and credit terms, based on forecasts of customer demand. Manage the movement of goods into and out of production facilities. Directs and coordinates activities of industrial organization to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits: Plans and develops organization policies and goals, and implements goals through subordinate administrative personnel. Confers with administrative personnel, and reviews activity, operating and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required. Carries out sales growth and business development functions. Works with subordinates in planning, leading, organizing and controlling business operations. Manages changes and growth programs. Directs preparation and coordinates with corporate departments in the implementation of administrative directives outlining change in company direction, policies, programs or operations for implementation by department personnel concerned. Evaluates performance of department managers for compliance with established policies, objectives, and individual and company initiatives. Analyzes and approves company budget for presentation to the President and Chief Executive Officer. Reviews and approves contracts ans agreements. Represents the company in trade or industry associations to develop relationships and promote the company. Monitors activities of departments to effect operational and administrative efficiency and effectiveness. Conducts human resource developmental analysis and spearheads implementation of resultant action plans and programs. Performs other duties deemed necessary for the accomplishment of company objectives. |
