| Job Duties: | 1. BE ABLE TO PERFORM PHLEBOTOMY AND OTHER SPECIMEN COLLECTION. 2. DATA ENTRY AND OTHER CLERICAL ACTIVITY 3. PROCESSING OF SPECIMENS AND FORENSIC TOXICOLOGY 4. OPERATES AND MAINTAIN LABORATORY EQUIPMENT 5. OPERATES LAB INFORMATION SYSTEM TO PERFORM VARIOUS TASK 6. ORGANIZES AND MAINTAINS WORK AREA AND SUPPLIES 7. MAY PERFORM POINT OF CARE AND/OR WAIVED TESTING. 8. REPRESENTS THE COMPANY IN INTERACTIONS WITH PATIENTS. 9. COMMUNICATION DEMANDS a. Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. b. Able to write routine reports and correspondence. c. Be able to communicate information to internal and external customers in informal settings such as one on one or small group situations. 10. PHYSICAL DEMANDS a. Requires manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination, and correct vision and hearing to normal range. b. Requires ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as but not limited to, gloves, lab coat, face shields and respiratory equip. c. May require distinguishing and identifying colors. d. May require standing, sitting or frequent bending for extended period of time. e. May require occasional lifting and carrying supplies weighing up to 35 pounds. f. Keying intermittently up to 2 or more hours a day g. May require repetitive manual motion such as but not limited to pipetting, capping and uncapping specimens. h. . be able to work in conditions common to a hospital laboratory environment, including working directly with biohazardous materials,potentially hazardous chemicals and patients with communicable disease. |
