Job Title: COOK, INSTITUTION
Job Duties: Clean, cut and cook meat, fish, or poultry. Cook foodstuffs according to menu, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, or number of portions to be served. Clean and inspect gallery equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation. Apportion and serve food to facility residents, employees, or patrons. Direct activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals. Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other cooking equipment. Compile and maintain records of food use and expenditures. Take inventory of supplies and equipment. Train new employees. Monitor use of food commodities to ensure that proper procedures are followed. Monitor menus and spending to ensure that meals are prepared economically. Determine prices, based on calculation of ingredients. Plan menus that are varied, nutritionally balanced, and appetizing, taking advantage of foods in season and local availability. Process requisition of food supplies, kitchen equipment, and appliances, based on estimates of future needs.

Qualification Requirements: Applicants must at least have a high school diploma. Need anywhere from a few months to a year of work experience, preferably cooking for an institution and in big batch. Applicants must be able to attend to an early morning shift, flexible work hours and can lift at least #50 lbs. Applicants must have knowledge on Customer and Personal Service- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Applicants must possess the following skills: time management, monitoring, judgement and decision making, operation monitoring, quality control analysis, reading comprehension, information ordering, near vision, oral comprehension, problem sensitivity, manual dexterity, speech clarity, time sharing, deductive reasoning, Inductive reasoning, oral expression, selective attention, speech recognition, written comprehension.
