| Job Duties: | Keeps work areas and retail stores in clean and orderly condition. Perform cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning debris from walkway outside the work locations. Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created. Service, clean, or supply restrooms. Gather and empty trash. Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees. Perform other related duties as required or as assigned. |

| Qualification Requirements: | High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to read and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Knowledge of the chemical processes and transformations that substances undergo (includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. Must pay close attention to detail. For example, cleaners need to be thorough when polishing silver. Must get along well with the people they provide services for. They must be polite and friendly. Good physical stamina as they may spend many hours on their feet, scrubbing, bending, and stretching. |
