Job Title: Insurance Underwriter
Job Duties: Review and analyze new insurance business and renewal submissions, gather and assess relevant underwriting information, calculate possible risks and rates, accept or reject risks by identification of exposures, risk inspections, and analysis. Provide insurance proposals, endorsements, policy coverage, or capacity and respond to in a timely manner to policy holders, brokers and staff.

Qualification Requirements: A bachelor's degree in insurance or risk management or related field. Minimum of two years in property, casualty, and life insurance lines required. Strong analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Computer proficient and knowledgeable in underwriting and risk management software. Must have comprehension and familiarity with CNMI Insurance laws. Ability to work tight deadlines and carry out instructions.

Comments: This is a temporary, full-time position for Insurance Underwriter and there is 1 position available. There is overtime available at the rate of $15.84 per hour. Three-Fourths Guarantee - As required by 20 CFR 655.423 (f), MICO offers employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourth of the workdays of the total period of employment specified in the work contract, beginning with the first workday after arrival of any worker or the contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ending on expiration of the date specified in the work contract or its extensions, if any. Transportation - As required by 20 CFR 6550423 (j)(1), MICO will provide or reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the United States, including another part of the Commonwealth or abroad, to the place of employment if the worker completes 50 percent of the period of employment covered by the work contract (not counting any extensions). If the worker completes the period of employment covered by the work contract (not counting any extensions), or if the worker is dismissed from employment for any reason by MICO before the end period, and the worker has no immediate subsequent CW-1 employment, MICO shall provide or pay at the time of departure for the worker's cost of return transportation and daily subsistence from the place of employment to the place from which the worker, disregarding intervening employment, departed to work for MICO.
