Job Title: CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
Job Duties: • Check quarrying operation regularly to monitor progress of quarry excavation and ensure conformance to a designed excavation and benching and specifications and safety standards. • Regularly supervises crusher operation for aggregates production to ensure proper size of aggregates is attained and to maximize production. • Oversee batching operation to make sure the mix design is followed, and the quality of ready-mixed-concrete is attained. • Direct the taking of concrete sample for the slump test and concrete cylinder samples for compression tests during pouring to regularly check adequacy of strength of concrete produced. • Prepare monthly quarry production and inventory reports using computer for submission to the management. • Direct or measure and compute the quantity or volume of concrete required at site at the request of customers to make sure it’s not excessively over or under estimates and to avoid any pouring delay. • Develop plans and estimate costs for installing systems and operating facilities. • Calculate mix design for ready-mixed-concrete using a regularly updated aggregate test results. • Direct or participate in the testing of materials to regularly update data by taking samples of aggregates and conduct tests such as sieve analysis, unit weight, absorption, specific gravity finesse modulus and other necessary tests. • Coordinate with customers to settle any problems that crop up regarding the quality and quantity of delivered products to customer’s project sites. • Provide technical feedback to industrial or managerial personnel regarding design, construction, or program modifications or structural repairs. • Direct or participate in surveying to lay out or establish reference points, grade, or elevations to guide any excavation / quarrying works. • Direct or participate an actual quarry product annual inventory by actual survey and measurement using survey instruments and calculate quantities by using computer. • Assist in the supervision of the construction, maintenance and repair of civil and structural facilities. • Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project economics feasibility. • Monitoring the cost and progress of construction and repair of civil and structural projects. • Prepare reports on the progress of projects and recommend solutions on any delay of activities. • Prepare implementation schedule for the construction or repair of civil and structural projects. • Prepare quantity take-off and procurement schedule for civil engineering projects. • Perform or oversee surveying operation to establish reference points, grades and elevation to guide construction or repair. • Perform or oversee soil testing to determine the adequacy and strength of foundation. • Coordinate with contractors for structures or projects to be contracted. • Inspect project site and evaluate contractor work to detect design malfunctions and ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes. • Read and review project blueprints to determine dimensions of structures. • Confer with their supervisors about preparing plans and evaluating field conditions. • Prepare reports and document project activities and data. • Do other related works as assigned.

Qualification Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (may be foreign equivalent). 24-months experience as Civil Engineer required.
