Job Title: Food Service Supervisor
Job Duties: Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards. Train workers in food preparation, and in service, sanitation, and safety procedures. Supervise and participate in kitchen and dining area cleaning activities. Perform personnel actions, such as hiring and firing staff, providing employee orientation and training, and conducting supervisory activities, such as creating work schedules or organizing employee time sheets. Control inventories of food, equipment, smallware, and liquor, and report shortages to designated personnel. Assign duties, responsibilities, and work stations to employees in accordance with work requirements. Specify food portions and courses, production and time sequences, and workstation and equipment arrangements. Record production, operational, and personnel data on specified forms. Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service, and complete disciplinary write-ups. Estimate ingredients and supplies required to prepare a recipe. Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastage, and establish procedures to alleviate these problems. Forecast staff, equipment, and supply requirements, based on a master menu. Recommend measures for improving work procedures and worker performance to increase service quality and enhance job safety. Purchase or requisition supplies and equipment needed to ensure quality and timely delivery of services. Conduct meetings and collaborate with other personnel for menu planning, serving arrangements, and related details. Evaluate new products for usefulness and suitability. Adheres to uniform and personnel hygiene requirements. Plan periodic inservice training with food service workers to update safety procedures and other related job information. Reports any personnel injuries and/or accidents to the manager. Reports equipment failure according to established procedures. Attends in-service training to improve skills and knowledge of job expertise. Attends regularly scheduled food service meetings.
High School Diploma Required? Yes
Qualification Requirements: Must have at least 12-months of experience as a Food Service supervisor and/or similar occupation. At least 6-months of training in Food handling safety, HACCP and/or similar field of training. Must be able to supervise 8-employees. Knowledge of supplies, equipment and/or services ordering and inventory control. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.Knowledge of service lines set-up and temperature requirements. Skill in cooking and preparing variety of foods. Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards. Must obtain food handler's certificate from CNMI Department of Public Health. Both U.S. workers and foreign workers are required to have certification. Must be able to work on flexible hours including holidays, weekends, early morning shift & evening shift.

Comments: EMPLOYMENT BASIS & DURATION: This job opportunity is for a temporary, full-time position beginning October 1, 2020 and ending September 30, 2021. WORK HOURS: Employees hired under this announcement will work on full-time employment of thirty-five (35) hours per week. THREEFOURTHS GUARANTEE. Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual fist date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. INBOUND/OUTBOUND TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE. The employer shall pay for all inbound transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract, or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. PROVISION OF TOOLS, SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT. Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job duties. RECRUITMENT INFORMATION.
