Job Title: Baker/Cake Decorator
Job Duties: Set oven temperatures and place items into hot ovens for baking. Combine measured ingredients in bowls of mixing, blending, or cooking machinery. Place dough in pans, molds, or on sheets and bake in production ovens or on grills. Set time and speed controls for mixing machines, blending machines, or steam kettles so that ingredients will be mixed or cooked according to instructions. Measure or weigh flour or other ingredients to prepare batters, doughs, fillings, or icings, using scales or graduated containers. Observe color of products being baked and adjust oven temperatures, humidity, or conveyor speeds accordingly. Adapt the quantity of ingredients to match the amount of items to be baked. Apply glazes, icings, or other toppings to baked goods, using spatulas or brushes. Decorate baked goods, such as cakes or pastries. Roll, knead, cut, or shape dough to form sweet rolls, pie crusts, tarts, cookies, or other products. Operate slicing or wrapping machines. Develop new recipes for baked goods.

Qualification Requirements: Must have at least 6-months of training in baking and decorating. Must have at least 12-months of experience as baker and cake decorator and/or similar occupation. *Detail-oriented to keep products from burning and have an eye for intricate decorations on pastries, cakes, etc. * Ability to read and follow recipes, and basic math skills to precisely mix recipes, weigh ingredients or adjust mixes. *Ability to follow strict health and safety standards. * Ability to lift and carry heavy bags of flour and other ingredients, which may weigh up to 50 pounds. * Ability to stand on their feet for extended periods while they prepare dough, monitor baking, or package baked goods. * Maintain proper hygiene. Must obtain CNMI food handler's certification from the CNMI Department of Public Health. * Must be able to report to work during holidays, weekends, early morning shift and evening shift.

Comments: EMPLOYMENT BASIS & DURATION: This job opportunity is for a temporary, full-time position beginning October 1, 2020 and ending September 30, 2023. WORK HOURS: Employees hired under this announcement will work on full-time employment of thirty-five (35) hours per week. THREEFOURTHS GUARANTEE. Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual fist date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. INBOUND/OUTBOUND TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE. The employer shall pay for all inbound transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract, or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. PROVISION OF TOOLS, SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT. Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job duties. RECRUITMENT INFORMATION.
