Job Title: News Director
Job Duties: Supervise 7 personnel with job position of: Sports Editor, Senior Reporter, Community Writer, Assignments Writer, Special Projects Writer, Editorial Assistant, Intern. Revise work to meet editorial approval or to fit time or space requirements. Review and evaluate notes taken about news events to isolate pertinent facts and details. Review written, audio, or video copy and correct errors in content, grammar, or punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines. Discuss issues with editors to establish priorities or positions. Assign stories to other reporters or duties to production staff. Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems. Scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others. Analyze information obtained from news sources. Edit written materials. Coordinate reporting or editing activities. Write informational material.

Qualification Requirements: EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree of Journalism, Creative Writing, or English required. WORK EXPERIENCE: 36 months of previous work related experience required. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas. presented through spoken words and sentences; to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand; to speak clearly so others can understand you; to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. The ability to report to work on varying shifts; specifically, on Sunday for three (3) hours from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday thru Thursday for seven (7) hours from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM (includes one hour lunch break), and on Friday for four (4) hours from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Comments: The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing on October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021 THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker's transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
