Job Title: Construction Laborer
Job Duties: Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities. Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed. Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes. Mix, pour, or spread concrete, using portable cement mixers. Erect or dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, or other temporary structures. Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts. Smooth or finish freshly poured cement or concrete, using floats, trowels, screeds, or powered cement finishing tools. Operate jackhammers or drills to break up concrete or pavement. Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces. Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces, such as concrete, marble, terrazzo, or wood flooring, using abrasive tools or machines. Position, join, align, or seal structural components, such as concrete wall sections or pipes. Apply caulking compounds by hand or caulking guns to protect against entry of water or air. Mop, brush, or spread paints, cleaning solutions, or other compounds over surfaces to clean them or to provide protection

Qualification Requirements: • Knowledgeable in using power and hand tools and equipment. Knowledge and understanding of blueprints, sketches and plans relative to the work at hand. No minimum education diploma requirement. Applicants may have undergone training of at least 6 months. Minimum of 1 year experience required to be considered for this job opportunity. Must be hardworking and able to work independently with least supervision as well as in coordination with co-workers. Must be willing to work flexible hours. Salary rate is $ 8.09 - $ 8.33/hr. This job opportunity is for a temporary, full time position.

Comments: EMPLOYMENT BASIS & DURATION: This job opportunity is for a temporary, full-time position beginning October 1, 2020 and ending September 30, 2023. WORK HOURS: Employees hired under this announcement will work on full time employment of at least thirty-five (35) hours per week. THREE FOURTHS GUARANTEE. Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. INBOUND/OUTBOUND TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: The employer shall pay for all inbound transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract, or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. PROVISION OF TOOLS, SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT: Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job duties. HOUSING: is optional and provided at no cost based on the availability and agreement. Rules may apply.
