Job Title: Home Appliance Repairers
Job Duties: Home Appliance Repairers 49-9031 1. Repair home appliances such as washing machine, vacuum cleaners, clothes dryers, refrigerators, cooking range, blenders, air conditioners, microwave ovens, water dispensers and others. 2. Observe, test and examine appliances during operation to detect specific malfunctions such as loose parts or leaking fluid. 3. Refer to schematic drawings, product manuals, and troubleshooting guides to diagnose and repair problems. 4. Trace electric circuits, following diagrams, and conduct tests with circuit testers and other equipment to locate shorts and grounds. 5. Disassemble appliances so that problems can be diagnosed and repairs can be made. 6. Replace worn and defective parts such as switches, bearings, transmissions, belts gears circuit boards, or defective wiring. 7. Reassemble units after repairs are made, making adjustments and cleaning and lubricating parts as needed. 8. Instruct tenants/customers regarding operation and care of appliances, and provide information such as emergency service numbers. 9. Take measurements to determine if appliances will fit in installation locations. 10. Respond to tenant’s emergency calls. 11. Observe and test operation following installation, and make any initial installation adjustments that are needed. 12. Set appliance thermostats, and check to ensure that they are functioning properly. 13. Level washing machines and connect hoses to water pipes, using hand tools. 14. Operate electric tools and hand tools such as multi-meters, drills, cutting tools, screwdrivers, nut drivers, wrench, pliers, putty knife, measuring kits, prying tools to do the job. 15. Maintain stock of parts used in on-site installation, maintenance and repair of appliances. 16. Test and examine connections, valves and hoses to locate leaks or faulty connections. 17. Provide costs estimates, and recommend whether appliance repair or replacement is a better choice. 18. Talk to tenants or refer to work orders to establish the nature of appliance malfunction 19. Install new appliance if needed. 20. Report to General Manager regarding work performed in order for the office to prepare a billing to the tenant.
High School Diploma Required? Yes
Qualification Requirements: Must have 12 months experience as technician / repairer fixing appliances such as washers, dryers, stoves, TV, air conditioners, refrigerators and others. Must be able to speak English, add, subtract, divide and multiply. Can work in open or confined spaces exposed to extreme heat, cold weather, dirt and noise. Can squat, stand and sit for long periods of time. Can lift or move 50 lbs and above. Must be patient to tenants.

Required tools, supplies and Equipment to be provided: EMPLOYER-PROVIDED TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: Workers will be provided without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned. BOARD, LODGING, OR OTHER FACILITIES: Employer will assist employee in securing board, lodging, or other facilities. TRANSPORTATION: Employer will provide employee transportation to and from the worksite. THREE FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment of the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. Employer and Employee will abide with 20CFR Part 655 regulations.
