Job Title: MARINE ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN
Job Duties: SUMMARY: Works independently to interpret test results from a variety of electrical and electronic test equipment. Proficient in the operation, testing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing of a wide variety of electrical and electronic equipment on Navy Watercraft, LARCs and ABLTS. This may include, but not limited to: - Engine control consoles & monitoring systems, - Electrical generation, conversion, and distribution electronics and automated controls, - Control systems and console, - Main propulsion controls and console, - Instrumentation, - Network Data Systems, - Bridge equipment: RADARS, ECDIS, GPS, FATHOMETER, SPEED LOG, ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work. 2. Effectively communicate with a variety of Navy / USMC and commercial technical representatives, ship’s crew and the SEAFIX Squadron Supervisor. 3. Ability to research material requirements, creating work lists, utilizing the Naval Supply System and prioritizing tasks based on vessel operation requirements. 4. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Ensure equipment, and tools are in safe operating condition. 5. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and immediately report any conditions that are not correctable to the Squadron Supervisor. 6. Performs other duties as assigned by the Squadron Supervisor.

Qualification Requirements: EXPERIENCE: Five years’ experience as mechanic PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside, around moving objects and machinery with moving parts. Exposure to dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel.
