| Job Duties: | Works at company nursery and at customers properties. Duties include, but are not limited to, plant propagation using various methods including seed, division, cuttings, and layering (simple, tip, compound and air layering); potting and maintaining plants; proper selection and safe use of insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and fertilizers; spraying, weeding, fertilizing and watering of lawns, ground cover, plants, shrubs and trees using hand tools and gardening tools; harvesting plants and transplanting or potting and labeling them; cleaning work areas and maintaining nursery supplies and systems; selling and delivering plants and flowers to customers; sowing grass seed and planting plugs of grass; regulating greenhouse conditions and indoor and outdoor irrigation systems; cut, roll and stack sod; inspect plants and detect the presence of insects or disease; provide information and advice to the public regarding the selection, purchase and care of products; maintain and repair irrigation systems; dig, cut and transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees and shrubs; record information about plants and plant growth; dig, rake, and screen soil in preparation for planting; inspect plants and bud ties to assess quality; trap and destroy pests, such as rats, shrews, and mice using traps and pesticides; move containerized shrubs, plants and trees using wheelbarrows, carts and trailers; tie and bunch flowers and prepare plants, shrubs and trees for delivery; haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss and other materials to condition soil using wheelbarrows, carts and shovels; operate machinery and equipment to fertilize, cultivate, harvest and spray fields and plants. Specific required nursery skills include in-depth knowledge regarding plant propagation, care, maintenance, harvesting and transplanting of a wide variety of tropical and non-tropical plants; the ability to evaluate the health of plants and to inspect plants for the presence of pests, disease and adequacy of nutrients; the ability to identify specific pests and to select and safely apply the appropriate fungicide, herbicide or pesticide and have knowledge of safe and proper use of these products; the knowledge of proper fertilizer selection, use and evaluation of effectiveness. |

| Qualification Requirements: | Three (3) months experience required. U.S. and Foreign workers must be physically fit and capable of performing physically demanding tasks all day, outside, in all kinds of weather and work environments including hot, wet, windy, uneven terrain and noise. Skills and tasks include, but are not limited to, handling and moving large and heavy objects, communicating effectively with customers and providing information about nursery and landscaping services and costs, in-depth knowledge regarding plant propagation, care, maintenance, harvesting and transplanting of a wide variety of tropical and non-tropical plants; the ability to evaluate the health of plants and to inspect plants for the presence of pests, disease and adequacy of nutrients; the ability to identify specific pests and to select and safely apply the appropriate fungicide, herbicide or pesticide and have knowledge of safe and proper use of these products; the knowledge of proper fertilizer selection, use and evaluation of effectiveness. |

| Comments: | This Nursery job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position with two (2) job openings available. All application materials will then be sent out by email. Interviews will be conducted Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM, or outside those hours by arrangement. Three-Fourths Guarantee: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. Transportation and Subsistence: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker's transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
