Job Title: Flight and Training Development Specialist
Job Duties: Plans, organizes, and directs training programs for company’s flights for jump operations. Evaluates current methods and training programs related to 14 CFR Part 91; including general aviation and jump operations, identifies any training deficiencies, and develops or updates training programs to best meet the company’s jump pilots’ needs. Researches and evaluates current recommendations on instructional methods and awareness of new rule changes or advisories, including airworthiness directives and service bulletins issued by the FAA for aircraft safety and maintenance. Plans and prepares training curriculum specific to Skydive Saipan jump operations; determines achievable instruction blocks; and designs and prepares instructional materials to ensure that the jump pilots are being trained by utilizing training methodologies, procedures, and materials that are technologically current, provide for proficiency at the highest level and optimum safety, and are in full compliance with the FAA regulations as well as with Skydive Saipan jump policies. Provides and explains training updates to regulations and guidelines set out by the Federal Aviation Administration. Reviews and provides training on proper procedures for communicating with Jump Pilot staff and calculating correct exit points in relation to different meteorological conditions. Review and provide training relevant to Aircraft Performance in particular to Weight and Balance, including correct loading of the aircraft and calculations ensuring correct distribution of jumpers in the aircraft, malfunction types and the methods of dealing with each type. Reviews and provides training on landing, including importance of maintaining airspeed near the ground; importance of airspeed to maximize flare potential; and dangers involved in stalling the aircraft with jumpers on board. Reviews and provides training on performing different types of exits based on the aircraft type being used and any potential advantages or disadvantages or potential dangers of the different exits being performed as well as ability to optimally perform abnormal exits from the aircraft and exits in the event of aircraft emergencies. Advises and teaches the jump pilots on techniques of reading meteorological conditions (visibility, wind, and cloud cover) to determine whether planned flights can be made safely or not, taking into account the types of flights being made. Ensures that personal credentials are always current and valid. Ensures that any accessory gear used (head-set, timer, pilot rig, uniform) are valid and within FAA standards. May be required to advise and teach other non-pilot employees flight safety basics. Act as Pilot/Pilot-in-Command, performs day-to-day jump flights, including pre-flight, noting squawks and log entries. Works with lead jumpers to navigate weather, avoid cloud cover while remaining within in FAA flight plan regulations, and communicate with Air Traffic Controllers in a professional and courteous manner. Evaluates and reports to management on overall performance and professionalism of jump pilots. Continually observes and evaluates performance of the pilots to evaluate their performance and to implement changes to the Skydive Saipan training protocol that could strengthen instructional techniques and safety. Plans, leads, and participates in discussion groups attended by the instructional staff, pilots, and ground crews to review operational procedures and enhance safety, performance, and efficiency in all ways possible. Trains, formulates, and implements procedures that enhance Skydive Saipan’s product and monitor the effectiveness of the changes. Keeps all training costs within budget or recommend changes in the budget, and creates expense reports and liaise with upper management. Attends seminars, symposiums, and other informative conferences in order to continually improve training standards and stay current with all changes within the industry. Sources and arranges for supplying the latest in training manuals and any other pertinent documentation. Performs other related duties under the direction and supervision of the President/CEO and Operations and Development Manager or designee.

Qualification Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Flight Science (may be foreign equivalent) and two (2) years of experience as a pilot for parachute jumps.
