Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Duties: Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools. Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices. Maintain or repair specialized equipment or machinery located in cafeterias, laundries, hospitals, stores, offices, or factories. Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment. Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery. Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges. Perform general cleaning duties of buildings or properties. Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work. Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, or tools. Align and balance new equipment after installation. Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments. Position, attach, or blow insulating materials to prevent energy losses from buildings, pipes, or other structures or objects. Estimate costs to repair machinery, equipment, or building structures.

Qualification Requirements: High School Graduate or Equivalent with two (2) years work experience as Maintenance Mechanic. Dexterity: Many repair and maintenance tasks, such as repairing small devices, connecting or attaching components, and using hand tools, require a steady hand and good hand-eye coordination. They may have to stand for long periods or lift heavy objects. These workers may work in uncomfortably hot or cold environments, in uncomfortable or cramped positions, or on ladders. The work involves a lot of walking, climbing, and reaching. Troubleshooting skills: Workers find, diagnose, and repair problems. They perform tests to figure out the cause of problems before fixing equipment. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools. Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Controlling operations of equipment or systems. Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.

Comments: The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing on October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022 THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker's transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
