Job Title: Chefs and Head Cooks
Job Duties: Plans or participates in menu planning, utilization of food surpluses and leftovers taking into account forecasted number of guests, marketing conditions and current trends. Rotates various menu items based on their popularity and works closely with the Executive Chef making seasonal changes of menus. Estimates food consumption, and purchases accordingly. Ensures proper requisitioning of foodstuffs and kitchen supplies to control costs. Reviews menus, prepares recipe cards, determines food, labor, and overhead costs, and assigns prices to menu items based on these costs. Directs food apportionment policy to control costs, supervise cooking and other kitchen personnel and coordinates their assignments to ensure economical and timely food production. Observes and trains in the proper methods of food preparation, cooking, portion size and garnishing of foods. This ensures food is prepared meeting the standards of this property. Recruit and hire staff, such as cooks and other kitchen workers. Tests cooked foods by tasting and smelling them for wholesomeness. Devises new dishes and develops recipes. Familiarizes newly hired chefs and cooks with practices of this properties restaurant and kitchen policies and oversees training of cook apprentices. Complete administrative duties in the absence of the Executive Chef i.e. maintaining time and payroll records. Establishes and enforces nutrition and sanitation standards in all outlets. Meet with sales representatives to negotiate prices or order supplies. Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations. May supervise or cooperate with the Stewarding Department in matters pertaining to kitchen, pantry, and storeroom. Works closely with the Front of the House to ensure guest satisfaction. This could mean special dietary menus i.e. low sugar, low salt or preparing a special menu. Takes necessary discipline action when needed. Performs other related duties as required

Comments: 1) EMPLOYMENT BASIS & DURATION. This job opportunity is for a temporary, full-time position, commencing on October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022 2) WORK HOURS. Employees hired under this announcement will work on full time employment at least 40 hours per week. 3)THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE. Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. 4) INBOUND/OUTBOUND TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE. Upon completion of the work contract, or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. 5) PROVISION OF TOOLS, SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT.
