Job Duties: TAKE CARE OF THE TOOLS AND MACHINES IN KEEPING THE COURSE GREEN AND GOOD CONDITION. OPERATE VEHICLES AND POWERED EQUIPMENT, SUCH AS MOWERS, TRACTORS, CHAIN SAWS, ELECTRICAL CLIPPER, SOD CUTTER AND PRUNING SAWS, FRONT LOADER, TOP DRESSER, SPREADER, VERTICUTTER. CARE FOR ESTABLISHED LAWNS BY MULCHING, AERATING, VERTICUTTING, WEEDING, GRUBBING, REMOVING THATCH OR TRIMMING OR EDGING AROUND FLOWER BEDS, WALKS OR WALLS. MAINTAIN GROUNDS AND TURF OF THE GOLF COURSE IN GOOD CONDITION, CULTIVATE AND GRADE AREAS, MOWING ROUGH, GREENS AND FAIRWAYS, BANKS, HILLSIDES. ENSURE THAT EQUIPMENT COOLING AND OTHER SYSTEMS ARE WORKING AT ALL TIMES, REFILLS FUEL AND OIL, CLEAN EQUIPMENT DAILY, REPORTS EQUIPMENT PROBLEMS. RETURN EQUIPMENT TO DESIGNATED AREAS AFTER USE. SETS TEE MARKERS AND CUPS ON GREENS AS DIRECTED, SANDS AND WEEDS TEE DROP AREA DIVOTS. MAINTAIN BALL WASHERS, REPLACE WATER, TEE TOWELS AND FLAGS WHEN NEEDED. WATER TEE, GREENS AND FAIRWAYS, OPERATES IRRIGATION IN DRY AREAS. GRADES AND PREPARE SOIL BASE AND LAY SODS, SEEDS GREENS, TEES AND FAIRWAYS. USE HAND TOOLS, SUCH AS SHRUBS OR HEDGES, SHEARS, PRUNERS. GATHER AND REMOVE LITTER. MIX AND SPRAY OR SPREAD FERTILIZERS, PESTICIDES OR INSECTICIDES ONTO GRASS, SHRUBS OR TEES, USING HAND OR AUTOMATIC SPRAYER OR SPREADERS. ASSIST CONTRACTOR WHEN NEEDED. GATHER AND REMOVE LITTER. PERIODICALLY RELOCATE HOLES ON PUTTING GREENS AND MAINTAIN BENCHES AND TEE MARKERS ALONG THE COURSE AND PROVIDE MORE INTENSE TURF MAINTENANCE. MAY ASSIGN TO KEEP CANOPIES, BENCHES, AND TEE MARKERS REPAIRED AND FRESHLY PAINTED. USE HAND TOOLS, SUCH AS SHOVELS, RAKES, PRUNING SAWS, SAWS, HEDGE OR BRUSH TRIMMERS, OR AXES. PRUNE OR TRIM TREES, SHRUBS, OR HEDGES, USING SHEARS, PRUNERS, OR CHAIN SAWS. FOLLOW PLANNED LANDSCAPING DESIGNS TO DETERMINE WHERE TO LAY SOD, SOW GRASS, OR PLANT FLOWERS. PLANT SEEDS, BULBS, FOLIAGE, FLOWERING PLANTS, GRASS, GROUND COVERS, TREES, OR SHRUBS AND APPLY MULCH FOR PROTECTION, USING GARDENING TOOLS MOW OR EDGE LAWNS, USING POWER MOWERS OR EDGERS. USE IRRIGATION METHODS TO ADJUST THE AMOUNT OF WATER CONSUMPTION AND TO PREVENT WASTE. PROVIDE PROPER UPKEEP OF SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS, PARKING LOTS, GOLF CART PATH, NURSERY OR OTHER GROUNDS FEATURES. MAINTAIN IRRIGATION SYSTEMS. CARE FOR ARTIFICIAL TURF FIELDS, PERIODICALLY REMOVING THE TURF AND REPLACING CUSHIONING PADS OR VACUUMING AND DISINFECTING THE TURF AFTER USE TO PREVENT THE GROWTH OF HARMFUL BACTERIA. CARE FOR NATURAL TURF FIELDS, MAKING SURE THE UNDERLYING SOIL HAS THE REQUIRED COMPOSITION TO ALLOW PROPER DRAINAGE AND TO SUPPORT THE GRASSES USED ON THE FIELDS. ADVISE GOLFERS ON WHAT TO DOS AND DONTS ON THE GOLF COURSE GRASS ALONG THE WAY. HAUL OR SPREAD TOPSOIL OR SPREAD STRAW OVER SEEDED SOIL TO HOLD SOIL IN PLACE. PERFORM OTHER TASK AS DETERMINED AND ASSIGNED BY THE GOLF COURSE DEPARTMENT HEAD.
High School Diploma Required? Yes
Qualification Requirements: High School Diploma/GED. At LEAST THREE MONTHS OF WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE IN MAINTAINING AND MONITORING DAILY OPERATIONS OF THE GOLF COURSE GREENS. REQUIRES ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE OF AGRONOMY AND TURF GRASS MANAGEMENT PRACTICES, HANDLING CHEMICALS SUCH AS FERTILIZERS AND PESTICIDES. KNOWLEDGE OF SAFE, EFFICIENT MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT SUCH AS TRACTORS, MOWERS, AND DRIVING OTHER MOTORIZED EQUIPMENT. KNOWLEDGE OF DIESEL AND GASOLINE EQUIPMENT OPERATIONS. MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO IMAGINE HOW PLANTS, TREES, SHRUBS, AND OTHER LANDSCAPING WILL LOOK BEFORE PLANTING OR TRIMMING. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK UNDER THE SUN AND CAN STAND FOR PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME AND CAPABLE OF LIFTING AT LEAST 50LBS. MUST BE ABLE TO ACQUIRE PESTICIDE APPLICATOR LICENSE PRIOR END OF THE TRAINING PERIOD. MUST BE CAPABLE OF DOING PHYSICALLY STRENUOUS LABOR FOR LONG HOURS, OCCASIONALLY IN EXTREME HEAT OR COLD. WILLING TO WORK IN FLEXIBLE SHIFTS, DAYS, EVENING, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS.

Comments: The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing on October 01, 2021 to September 30, 2024. THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total of number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period and begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment of the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: required by 20 CFR655.423(j)(l); If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide reimburse, or advance payment for the worker's transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon the completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable cost of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Frequency of pay: Bi-weekly, subjected to mandatory payroll tax deduction required by law (20 CFR 655.423(h).
