Job Title: Civil Engineering Technician
Job Duties: Calculate dimensions, square footage, profile and component specifications, and material quantities using calculator or computer. Read and review project blueprints and structural specifications to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements. Draft detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts for projects and to ensure conformance to specifications. Confer with supervisor to determine project details such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions. Analyze proposed site factors and design maps, graphs, tracings, and diagrams to illustrate findings. Prepare reports and document project activities and data. Report maintenance problems occurring at project site to supervisor and negotiate changes to resolve system conflicts. Inspect project site and evaluate contractor work to detect design malfunctions and ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes. Conduct materials test and analysis using tools and equipment and applying engineering knowledge. Develop plans and estimate costs for installation of systems, utilization of facilities, or construction of structures. Develop project budgets by estimating the cost of project activities. Evaluate facility to determine suitability for occupancy and square footage availability. Plan and conduct field surveys to locate new sites and analyze details of project sites. Respond to public suggestions and complaints. Negotiate prices for new contracts or for modifications to existing contracts with contractors.

Qualification Requirements: Education: minimum US diploma/degree required. Must have at least 12 months Work Experience as Civil Engineering Technician Working Hrs: 8:00am to 5:00 pm. With knowledge on how to calculate dimensions, square footage,profile, component specifications, material quantities using calculator or computer.Read and review project blueprint, and structural specifications. Draft detailed dimensional drawing and design layouts for project to ensure conformance to specification. Prepare reports of project activities develop project budgets by estimating the cost of project activities. Negotiate price for new contracts. Must be computer literate, knowledgable in word or excel. Must have CNMI Drivers License and able to drive. Hardworking and Flexible.

Comments: The job opportunity is a TEMPORARY, full-time position commencing October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022. Terms & Three-Fourths Guarantee: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or its extension, if any. Transportation and Subsistence: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse or advance payment for the worker’s transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily Transportation: Workers will be provided with daily transportation to and from the worksite. Board, Lodging, or Other Facilities: Workers will be provided with board, lodging or other facilities and/or employer will assist workers in securing board, lodging or other facilities. Tools Equipment & Supplies: The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Miscellaneous: The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid bi-weekly by check. The employer will make all the payroll deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by Local CNMI and Federal Tax law. The Employer will NOT provide worker On-the –Job training for this position.
