Job Title: Animal Attendant
Job Duties: Examine animals for injuries or malnutrition, and arrange for any necessary medical treatment. Clean facilities and equipment such as pens, holding areas and animal boats. Remove captured animals from animal-control service vehicles and place animals in shelter cages or other enclosures. Issue warnings or citations in connection with animal-related offenses, or contact police to report violations and request arrests. Examine animal licenses, and inspect establishments housing animals for compliance with laws. Answer inquiries from the public concerning animal control operations. Train team members in animal handling and training techniques.
High School Diploma Required? No
Qualification Requirements: THREE (3) MONTH PRIOR TRAINING IN ANIMAL HUSBANDRY. AT LEAST TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE AS AN ANIMAL ATTENDANT/TRAINER. MUST BE ABLE AND WILLING TO WORK SHIFTS, EVENINGS, HOLIDAYS, AND WEEKENDS. MUST BE ABLE AND WILLING TO WORK DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER. KNOWLEDGE OF PRINCIPLES AND PROCESSES FOR PROVIDING CUSTOMER AND PERSONAL SERVICES. THIS INCLUDES CUSTOMER NEEDS ASSESSMENT, MEETING QUALITY STANDARDS FOR SERVICES, AND EVALUATION OF CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. KNOWLEDGE OF LAWS, LEGAL CODES, COURT PROCEDURES, PRECEDENTS, GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS, EXECUTIVE ORDERS, AGENCY RULES, AND THE DEMOCRATIC POLITICAL PROCESS. KNOWLEDGE OF RELEVANT EQUIPMENT, POLICIES, PROCEDURES, AND STRATEGIES TO PROMOTE EFFECTIVE LOCAL, STATE, OR NATIONAL SECURITY OPERATIONS FOR THE PROTECTION OF PEOPLE, DATA, PROPERTY, AND INSTITUTIONS. USING LOGIC AND REASONING TO IDENTIFY THE STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES OF ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS, CONCLUSIONS OR APPROACHES TO PROBLEMS. LIFEGUARD, AND FIRST-AID AND CPR CERTIFICATIONS.

Comments: The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing on October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022. THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker's transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
