| Job Title: | Reinforcing Metal Worker |
| Job Duties: | Position and secure steel bars, rods, or mesh in concrete forms to reinforce concrete. Determine numbers, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions. Select space and fasten together using wire and pliers. Cut rods to required lengths using metal shears, hacksaw, bar cutters, or acetylene torch. Cut and fit wire mesh and fabric, using hooked rods, and position fabric and mesh in concrete to reinforce concrete. Bend steel rods with hand tools or rod bending machines and weld them with arc-welding equipment Positions and secures steel bars in concrete. Determine number, sizes, shapes and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or instruction. Select and places rod in forms, spacing and fastening them together, using wires and pliers. Cuts bars required lengths, using back saw, bar cutters or acetylene torch. |
