| Job Duties: | Perform field and laboratory testing (soils, aggregate, concrete and asphaltic mixtures), and soil investigations; prepare reports based on project observations and inspections (earthworks); communicate with clients, project managers and others regarding projects. Field and laboratory testing to include, but not limited to, gradation analysis, Atterberg Limits, specific gravity, proctor, California bearing ratio, unit weight, moisture content, consolidation, unconfined compressive strength, field density and moisture tests, slump, temperature, and air content. Soil investigations to include split spoon, Shelby tube, and California modified sampling via auger and rotary mud drilling and test pitting methods. Observations and inspections to include placement and acceptance review of earthwork, concrete and asphalt materials. Preparation of testing, logging and inspection reports for review and approval by assigned supervisor. |
