Job Duties: | Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food handling practices. Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping, track of old and new items, and rotating stock. Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking. Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience. Come in to work according to work shift schedule. Inspect kitchen tidiness and other safety issues. Routine duties before start cooking to do preparations of materials and supplies, such as, meat, ingredients, vegetables, empanada, sushi, etc. Inspect gas supplies availability. Prepares request for purchases of materials and supplies as needed. Cook food as per the menu of the day, for instance, seafood fried rice, corn soup, fried noodles, etc. The cafeteria has the menu list for special meal. Assists putting the food at the display trays for buffet. Cook refills as necessary. After done cooking and before shift ended, helps secure unused materials and put into freezers and/or chillers. Helps replace supplies and cooking pans to their proper storage. The employee shall be cooking in a cafeteria. Foods have been prepared and displayed in the trays at the buffet serving tables or shelves. |
