Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic
Job Duties: Summary of duties: Diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul aircraft engines and assemblies to ensure airworthiness. Specific tasks: •Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brakes, welding equipment, rivet and drills. •Reads and interpret manufacturer's and airlines maintenance manual, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and methods or repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. •Examines engines for cracked cylinders and oil leaks, and listens to operating engine to detect and diagnose malfunctions, such as sticking or burned valves; •Tests engine operation, using testing equipment such as ignition analyzer, compression checker. distributor timer, and ammeter to locate source of malfunction; •Replaces or repairs worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, and magnetos, using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; •Removes engine from aircraft, using hoists or forklift truck; •Disassembles and inspects parts for wear, warping, or other defects, repairs or replaces defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft; •Adjust, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories; •Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.

Qualification Requirements: •Must possess a mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings issued by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration in accordance with Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 65 Subpart D. The required certificate will be applied equally to both U.S. workers and CW-1 workers. •Must meet the recency requirements under 14 CFR 65.83 (B): A certificated mechanic may not exercise the privileges of his certificate and ratings unless, within the preceding 24 months – (B)He has, for at least 6 months – (1)Served as mechanic under his certificate and rating; (2)Technically supervised other mechanics; (3)Supervised, in an executive capacity, the maintenance or alteration of aircraft; or (4)Been engaged in any combination of paragraph (B) (1), (2), or (3) of this section. The recency requirements under 14 CFR 65.83 (B) will be applied equally to both U.S. workers and CW-1 workers. •Must pass a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug test requirement under Title 14 CFR 120.109(a)(1): No employer may hire any individual for a safety-sensitive function listed in 120.105 unless the employer first conducts a pre-employment test and receives a verified negative drug test result for that individual. The DOT/FAA pre-employment drug test requirement under Title 14 CFR 120.109(a)(1) will be applied equally to both U.S. workers and CW-1 workers.

Comments: •The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing on February 01, 2023 to January 31, 2024. •Three-Fourths Guarantee: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. •Transportation and Subsistence: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker’s transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment.
