Job Title: | Network Systems Administrator |
Job Duties: | Participates in Program Review and Outcome Assessment (PROA) activities; Demonstrate and provide effective phone etiquette and customer service skills; Determine an organization’s network and software and make needed upgrades and repairs; Maintain network and computer system security and ensure that all systems are operating correctly; Collect data in order to evaluate and optimize network or system performance; Add users to a network and assign and update security permissions on the network; Train users in the proper use of hardware and software; Interpret and solve problems when a user or an automated monitoring system alerts them that one exists; Administrators’ manage an organization’s servers and desktop and mobile equipment. They ensure that email and data storage networks work properly. They also make sure that employees’ workstations’ are working efficiently and stay connected to the central computer network. Some administrators’ manage telecommunication networks; Provides high-quality student and internal and external customer service; Plans and coordinates the delivery of technology services to college instructional and administrative communities; Works with faculty and staff to develop and implement technology plans and initiatives in support of the learning mission of the College; Use adequate coding to create web pages, including HTML, XML, Flash, Perl, CSS, PHP, JSP, ASP, and others; Supports the development of the technology infrastructure to improve student access to computer and network resources; Manage Microsoft Share Point services and implementation, including building a relationship with departments to populate a working share point environment; Manage web development or portable media application development suited for interfacing simple data reporting to iOS and Android compatible devices; Works closely with the distance education program on moodle-rooms based web applications, or environments similar to it; Works closely with departments to host and enhance the productivity of the classroom environment, virtual or live; and is willing to build the relationships necessary to improve and enhance the institution’s technological foundation; Supports infrastructure development and improvement activities; Supports the improvement of email and web access including installation of components necessary for such functions; Supports the integration of technology between accounting, human resources, and information technology as well as provide adequate support for such functions; Performs other duties as assigned. |
