Job Duties: | Study blueprints, design specifications, or manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of cooling/heating equipment components and auxiliary components to ensure the proper installation of components. Installs, services, troubleshoots, and repairs air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment and auxiliary components utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipe fitting, and structural layout. Fabricates, assembles and installs ductwork, chassis parts and other equipment using portable metal working tools and welding equipment. Repair or replace defective components in equipment and their controls, including but not limited to, thermostats, automatic switches, fan controls, log switches, damper motors, louvers, relays, filters, controls, belts, compressors, heat exchangers, high limit controls, pressure controls, and safety valves. Perform maintenance and repair work for the HVAC equipment, auxiliary components, timers, motors, wiring systems, and related equipment as needed. Connect motors to control panels. Lubricate and pack heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air-conditioning motors, pumps, fans, and other equipment. Install and calibrate systems; install copper tubing and repair pipes and tubing as necessary; test joints and insulate pipes of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Install, rebuild, replace or repair fans, motors, thermostats, fuses, filters, bearings, valves, controls, gaskets and other equipment as necessary. Prepare equipment inspection schedules, reliability schedules, work plans, and other records. |

Qualification Requirements: | Two (2) years’ experience as HVAC Mechanic or similar job title. Successful applicant must be able to obtain military base access. Off-island hires must complete a health screening prior to working in Guam. |
