Job Title: HVAC Technician
Job Duties: Install, service, and repair heating and air conditioning systems in residences and commercial establishments. Obtain and maintain required certifications. Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area. Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring. Test electrical circuits and components for continuity, using electrical test equipment. Reassemble and test equipment following repairs. Inspect and test system to verify system compliance with plans and specifications and to detect and locate malfunctions. Discuss heating-cooling system malfunctions with users to isolate problems or to verify that malfunctions have been corrected. Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders. Test pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution. Adjust system controls to setting recommended by manufacturer to balance system, using hand tools. Does other related duty as assigned from time to time.

Qualification Requirements: HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA, GED OR SUITABLE EQUIVALENT. 12 MONTHS EXPERIENCE AS AN HVAC TECHNICIAN. UNDERSTANDING OF ADVANCED PRINCIPLES OF AIR CONDITIONING, REFRIGERATION AND HEATING. WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF BOILER SYSTEMS. PROFICIENT IN BALANCING AIR AND WATER TREATMENT SYSTEMS IN LINE WITH HVAC PROTOCOLS. PROFICIENT IN READING SCHEMATICS AND WORK PLANS. ABILITY TO WORK AFTER HOURS, OVER WEEKENDS AND ON PUBLIC HOLIDAYS WITH SHORT OR NO NOTICE. ABILITY TO WORK IN CONFINED SPACES. ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH APPLIANCE STANDARDS AND WITH OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT.

Comments: The place of employment will be at Susupe, Saipan. Applicants will be reasonably expected to reside within the area of the place of employment to perform the services or labor as advertised. Overtime hours will be applicable at 1.5 x the rate indicated on the JVA. The employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck as required by law, as well as other deductions for selected employee benefits, including health, vision, dental, life insurance and 401 (K) subject to each company’s conditions. The employer guarantees under paragraph (f)(1) to offer each employee employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period of employment specified in the work contract, beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the employee at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ending on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. If a worker voluntarily abandons employment or is terminated for cause, the employer is not required to guarantee three-fourths of the work contract, as provided under Subsection 655.423(f). The employer will provide transportation and subsistence to the employee while traveling from the employee’s origin to the place of employment as well as the return transportation and subsistence at the conclusion of the job opportunity, as required by 20 CFR 655.423(j)(1). Daily transportation to and from the place(s) of employment will be provided by the employer if applicable. The employer will provide without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies and equipment required to perform the duties assigned, in accordance with 20 CFR 655.423(k) Board, lodging, or other facilities the employer will offer to works or tends to assist workers in securing if applicable On the job training will be provided to the worker if applicable.
